Cutting generally refers to the cutting of metal. The plasma arc is formed under the action of voltage, air pressure, and magnetic field. The plasma arc is maintained to burn stably through a large current, and then the nozzle is slightly raised (to avoid damage to the nozzle by the hot workpiece), and the cutting method is most suitable for a small current (low power)Plasma cutting machine.
Plasma cutting machine transfer arc type (dimensional arc type): connect the positive end of the power supply to the nozzle through a certain resistance and a relay switch, so that an arc is formed between the pole needle and the nozzle (due to the resistance current limit, the arc is small), and then the nozzle is close On the workpiece that is directly connected to the positive end of the power supply, an arc with greater energy is formed between the pole needle and the workpiece. After the arc is compressed, a plasma arc is formed, the connection between the nozzle and the positive end of the power supply is disconnected and cutting begins. The transfer arc cutting method can prevent the arc from deviating from the center of the nozzle under the action of air pressure and damaging the nozzle. This method is suitable for high-power Plasma cutting machines.
